The Rajwada Indore


The Rajwada Indore :
Rajwada is the ancient palace of the Holkars. Rajwada was built about two centuries before and is situated near the Chhatris in the main square. Rajwada is a seven storied structure, which satisfies as the living example of the grandeur of the Holkars. Rajwada stands in the middle of the city. The new palace is on the northern side, while the old palace stands in the old part of the town. The old palace is a multi-storied building which has also serves as a gateway of the Rajwada, Indore.

The palace was once upon the centre of all the trading activities in the city. It is a blend of Maratha, Mughal and French style of architecture. The palace entrance has a lofty archway with a giant wooden door which is covered with iron studs.The palace has a number of balconies windows and corridors. The gopura-like monument is made up of wood and stone. The entrance leads to a huge courtyard, and it was surrounded by galleried rooms and the arcaded Ganesha hall, which was once the venue of all state and religious functions. The hall is now used for art exhibitions and classical music concerts.

The Age of Steam Railroad Museum is a self-sustaining organization deeply engaged in collecting artifacts and archival material from the railroad industry for the purpose of preserving, exhibiting, and explaining their significance in American life and their culture. Exhibits and general programs are provided on a year-round basis at the Museum’s principal location of business in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas.

Golghar


The capital of Bihar, Patna is situated on the southern bank of the holy river Ganges. It is a tropical city in the northern Gangetic plains known for being the capital of mighty Magadh and Mauryan empires. Panic stricken by the devastating famine of 1770, the British ruler Captain John Garstin had built a SILO or Golghar built for the storage of foodgrains for British army with the storing capacity of 140000 tons on 20th July 1786, at the east bank of the Ganga River where today's Gandhi Maidan is located. At present Golghar is the Central Granary.It is first in Asia and largest in the world this SILO has unique qualities in architecture. Golghar is round like a honeycomb.

Golghar has a foundation of 125m, it is pillarless with the wall of 3.6m width and the height is 29m.If one can climb 145 steps to its top and can have the simple view of Patna city.Golghar's Whispering Gallery is wonderful.The Golghar houses paintings in Mughal and Rajput style, Arabic and Persian manuscripts, the only book replaced from the Spanish University of Cordova, one inch wide Koran and all other books and manuscripts collections worth mentioning. Overlooking the river and the plains, patna's Golghar is look like the upper half of a gigantic, decorated Easter egg, with spiral stairway winding around this monument, adding to its enhancement.Golghar offers a magnificent breathtaking view of the city and the river Ganges, flowing nearby. The spiral staircase was so designed, in order to expedite the passage of the coolies, who had to carry grain-bags up one flight, deliver their load through a hole at the top, and descend the other stairs.

The Patna Planetarium


The Patna Planetarium :
Patna Planetarium is situated in Patna's Indira Gandhi Science Complex; This Planetarium is also called by Indira Gandhi Planetarium, which is one of the biggest planetariums in Asia. The Patna Planetarium attracts a large number of domestic as well as foreign tourists. Regular film shows are conducted on the subjects relating to astronomy and exhibitions are also conducted here. Which attracts lots of visitors? The Patna Planetarium is located on Bailey Road near Income Tax Golambar in Patna within a distance of 8 km from Patna Airport, 1½ km from Patna Railway station, 2 km from Government Bus stand, and 10 km from Private Bus stand.

The Patna Planetarium was constructed by Bihar Council on Science & Technology at a total cost of about Rs. 11Crores. The planetarium was conceptualized in 1989 by Bihar Chief Minister Shree Satyendra Narain Sinha and was inaugurated by Shree Laloo Prasad yadav, who was Chief Minister of Bihar, on March 21, 1993. The Patna Planetarium was especially dedicated to the Nation and opened for the public from 1 April 1993. It is named after former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.
