The Detroit Children's Museum:

The Detroit Children's Museum has thousands of artifacts on display. This Museum has newly displayed items include the skull of an extinct mammal Andrewsarchus, masks and Civil War artifacts.

The Detroit Children's Museum restarted in 1917 as a venture between the Museum of Art and the Board of Education. Galleries in the museum feature a mounted Bengal tiger, bird room, art gallery, American Indian artifacts, and natural history displays. It is part of the Detroit Science Center.

The 93-year-old museum houses dinosaur bones, dioramas, costumes and dolls from around the world. It also has an extensive collection of rocks, fossils and crystals, some of which are being presented in new displays.
In the main exhibit hall, more than 500 items are on display — about twice as many as a year ago, In one display, a large doll house that sits behind glass is paired with another where children can play with dolls.

Royal Ontario Museum :

At the turn of the 20th century, a small group of Torontonians visualized a museum in the city of international stature. People of some position and influence, they championed the cause and persuaded both the Ontario Government and the Toronto University to fund the future museum.

The Royal Ontario Museum was created by the signing of the ROM Act in the Ontario Legislature on 1912. When the Duke of Connaught, then Governor-General of Canada,the new building was opened to the public at 3:00 pm on March 19, 1914, it instantly became an object of pride for Toronto.
