The Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum :
The Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is the one-man collection of Padmashree Late Dr. D.G. Kelkar (1896 -1990). 'Kaka', as Dr. Kelkar was affectionately known, dedicated his collection to the memory of his only son `Raja’ who died an untimely tragic death.

Kelkar Museum is a collection about 21,000 priceless artifacts which mirror the everyday life of India. A testimony to man’s creative spirit - the spirit that breaths beauty into the banal, and puts romance into the mundane.

Kaka was a man obsessed with art. A man who, for over sixty years, he traveled extensively across the country - to uncertain villages and tribal settlements, to grand temples and humble huts,and to forgotten attics and folk fares - collecting .. always collecting.

Kaka,he was a poet, wel known as 'Adnyatwasi'. He was a man, who was driven by an inner calling. A man on a mission. To gather the detective examples of folk arts and Indian craftsmanship and to commit them to the world as an invaluable inheritance, a legacy of love.

The extraordinary Museum collection of 21,000 priceless artifacts recalls Indian traditions and the historical indian culture which gently lead to more and much treasures. metal,Creations in stone,ivory(a tusk, as of an elephant), wood, fabric and clay that survive as the full realization of human craftsmanship.

The collection of Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is an expressive reminder of the invaluable improvement of Kaka’s late wife Smt. Kamlabai Kelkar (1902 - 1980),and partner and also of Kaka’s only daughter Sau. Rekha Hari Ranade Prabhatai).

The Museum’s highlight ‘Mastani Mahal’ reveals the mansion of ‘Mastani’, the famous concubine of ‘Peshwa Bajirao Ist’ - Kaka’s tribute to the grandeur of a bygone era.

This priceless treasure donated by Kakasaheb Kelkar, since 1975, is encouraged by the Government of Maharashtra, and it is also managed by the Board of Management who are deeply committed to not only preserving Kaka’s collection but also to the growth and development of the Collection.

The Rajwada Indore


The Rajwada Indore :
Rajwada is the ancient palace of the Holkars. Rajwada was built about two centuries before and is situated near the Chhatris in the main square. Rajwada is a seven storied structure, which satisfies as the living example of the grandeur of the Holkars. Rajwada stands in the middle of the city. The new palace is on the northern side, while the old palace stands in the old part of the town. The old palace is a multi-storied building which has also serves as a gateway of the Rajwada, Indore.

The palace was once upon the centre of all the trading activities in the city. It is a blend of Maratha, Mughal and French style of architecture. The palace entrance has a lofty archway with a giant wooden door which is covered with iron studs.The palace has a number of balconies windows and corridors. The gopura-like monument is made up of wood and stone. The entrance leads to a huge courtyard, and it was surrounded by galleried rooms and the arcaded Ganesha hall, which was once the venue of all state and religious functions. The hall is now used for art exhibitions and classical music concerts.

Golghar


The capital of Bihar, Patna is situated on the southern bank of the holy river Ganges. It is a tropical city in the northern Gangetic plains known for being the capital of mighty Magadh and Mauryan empires. Panic stricken by the devastating famine of 1770, the British ruler Captain John Garstin had built a SILO or Golghar built for the storage of foodgrains for British army with the storing capacity of 140000 tons on 20th July 1786, at the east bank of the Ganga River where today's Gandhi Maidan is located. At present Golghar is the Central Granary.It is first in Asia and largest in the world this SILO has unique qualities in architecture. Golghar is round like a honeycomb.

Golghar has a foundation of 125m, it is pillarless with the wall of 3.6m width and the height is 29m.If one can climb 145 steps to its top and can have the simple view of Patna city.Golghar's Whispering Gallery is wonderful.The Golghar houses paintings in Mughal and Rajput style, Arabic and Persian manuscripts, the only book replaced from the Spanish University of Cordova, one inch wide Koran and all other books and manuscripts collections worth mentioning. Overlooking the river and the plains, patna's Golghar is look like the upper half of a gigantic, decorated Easter egg, with spiral stairway winding around this monument, adding to its enhancement.Golghar offers a magnificent breathtaking view of the city and the river Ganges, flowing nearby. The spiral staircase was so designed, in order to expedite the passage of the coolies, who had to carry grain-bags up one flight, deliver their load through a hole at the top, and descend the other stairs.

The Patna Planetarium :
Patna Planetarium is situated in Patna's Indira Gandhi Science Complex; This Planetarium is also called by Indira Gandhi Planetarium, which is one of the biggest planetariums in Asia. The Patna Planetarium attracts a large number of domestic as well as foreign tourists. Regular film shows are conducted on the subjects relating to astronomy and exhibitions are also conducted here. The planetarium was conceptualized in 1989 by Bihar Chief Minister Shree Satyendra Narain Sinha and was inaugurated by Shree Laloo Prasad yadav, who was Chief Minister of Bihar, on March 21, 1993. The Patna Planetarium was especially dedicated to the Nation and opened for the public from 1 April 1993. It is named after former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.

The city palace:
The city palace is one of the most magnificent marvels or Jaipur is the City Palace Complex which has a rare combination of the finest cunstrction of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. In the heart of the old city, it has vast area. The outer wall was built (constructed) by Jai Singh and additions made up to the 20th century. Many buildings, very well planned gardens and huge courtyards are a part of the complex. Sawai Madho Singh II constructed Mubarak Mahal as a reception centre. The mahal comes before the main complex, though it now forms a part of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum. The city palace has an array of royal costumes, shawls, embroideries, Benares silk sarees, the maharaja's pyjamas, chogas and pyjamas of other rulers, musical instruments, jamawars, kamarbands like the giant sized tanpura and sarangis and a set of the clothes of Sawai Madho Singh who was over seven feet tall and four feet wide and supported a Goliathic weight of 250 kilograms.

Fort William


Fort William:
Fort William is a most visiting place in Calcutta. Situated at the banks of river Hooghly, fort william was named after King William III of England. Fort William of Kolkata, India, was established in the year 1696 during the tenure of British Raj. Port william was the guardroom of this two-storied building, where the black hole tragedy took place. During the Plassey war in 1757, the Nawab of Bengal, Siraj Ud Daulah attacked on the fort and defeated the Britishers. The new fort constructed by British.

The new fort was initiated by Robert Clive, which got completed by 1780. The main purpose of setting up Calcutta Fort William was to prevent the attacks from Muslim invaders. The area around the fort that was cleared to became maidan, where several exhibitions and fairs take place. The foundation of the old fort is still intact. Till now, the old fort is a military area and the Arsenal inside it is worth watching, but for that permission of the commanding officer is required.

Birla Planetarium:
Birla planetarium of Kolkata, India is one of the largest museums in Asia. The Detroit Children's Museum:

The Detroit Children's Museum has thousands of artifacts on display. This Museum has newly displayed items include the skull of an extinct mammal Andrewsarchus, masks and Civil War artifacts.

The Detroit Children's Museum restarted in 1917 as a venture between the Museum of Art and the Board of Education. Galleries in the museum feature a mounted Bengal tiger, bird room, art gallery, American Indian artifacts, and natural history displays. It is part of the Detroit Science Center.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science

The Houston Museum of Natural Science :
The fundamental museum association was called the Houston Museum and Scientific Society, Inc., and was created in 1909. It was located in the City Auditorium building in downtown, the museum transfered to a building within Houston Zoo in 1929. The museum's primary collection was accomplished between  the years 1914 and 1930. The museum's now considerable education programs began back in 1947, and by its second year,it was already hosting 12,000 children a year.

Now the opportunity in Hermann Park was constructed in 1969. In 1988, the Challenger Center was first opened in memory of the space mission;and mainly simulator's aim is to teach visitors about space flight. The Battery Conservancy


The southern shoreline of Manhattan Island had been known as the Battery, and  it was a famous promenade(stroll) since at least the 17th century. At the time, The battery served as protection to the town. It was the center of Evacuation Day celebrations commemorating the separation of the last British troops in USA after the American Revolutionary War. The relatively modern park was first created by landfill at the time of 19th century.It was resulting in a landscaped open space at the foot of the heavily developed mainland of downtown. Skyscrapers now occupy most of the original land, stopping suddenly where the park begins. On State Street,a single Federal mansion survives as the Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton,the former sanctuary front and the northern boundary of the park.The city's stylish residential district lay north of this house, between Broadway and the "North River" now especially known as the Hudson River, Until the 1820s.

The Empire State Building


The Empire State Building :

In the late 18th century the location of the Empire State Building was first developed as the John Thompson Farm. At the time, a stream ran across the site, emptying into Sunfish Pond, located a block away. Beginning in the late 19th century the block was occupied by the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, frequented by The Four Hundred, the social elite of New York.

Before the building was finished,Broadcasting from the Empire State Building was started with an NBC broadcast on Christmas Eve 1930. On ESB's opening night, May 1, 1931, NBC broadcast the RKO Theatre Over-the-Air from the 86th floor. Radio programs were included with NBC's Mobil Oil Concert Hour and WOR's Manhattan Melodies and The Microphone in the Sky. Television appearance when NBC sent its first experimental television signal from the top of the building on December 22, 1931 and in 1939.They introduced the first regular television that broadcasts with the opening day ceremonies at the New York World's Fair.

The light house helps to decreses the risk of ending up shipwrecked.

The Sandy Hook Lighthouse was first well known as the New York lighthouse. An article in the local news paper written as the following: “On Monday Evening last the New York Lighthouse erected at Sandy Hook was lighted for the first time. The House is of an Octagonal Figure, having eight equal sides; the base Diameter is 29 Feet and at the top of the Wall 15 Feet. The lanthorn is 7 Feet high; the circumference is to be 33 Feet. The constructure of the Lanthorn is Iron and the top was covered with copper. And there are 48 Oil Blazes. The Building from the surface is Nine Stories complete from the Bottom to Top 103 Feet.

Marsh's Free Museum


Marsh's Free Museum is a roadside stop that lures you in with more than tacky seashell gifts (though they have plenty of those too). The walls and ceiling are lined with various knick knacks from snake skins to weapons to bee hives to soviet military metals.

The main attraction at Marsh's, however, is "Jake the Alligator Man," a mummified half-man half-alligator. Visitors can easily spend the better part of an hour browsing Marsh's taxidermy collection, which includes a two-headed calf, a cycloptic lamb, a two-headed pig, and a shark. A real (or so it is claimed) shrunken head is also on display.

From "mechanized antique gaming machines and peepshows, there is no end to the marvels one uncovers in every nook and cranny," according to Marsh's official website.

The largest museum in India is The National Museum in New Delhi. It accomodates variety of articles ranging from pre-historic generation to modern works of art. It operated under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The National Museum is located on the corner of Janpath and Maulana Azad Road.It also Organizes The National Museum Institute of History of art, Conservation and Museology was established in 1983 and now a Deemed University since 1989, and run Masters and Doctoral level courses in History of Art, Art Conservation and Art restoration.

Roots to The National Museum begin from an exhibition of Indian art and artifacts in the Royal academy at London in the winter of 1947-48. At the end of the London exhibition, the exhibition custodians had decided to display the same collection intact in India before returning the artifacts to their individual museums. The Indian exhibition was presented at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in 1949, and was so advantageous that it led to the reconciliation to form a permanent National Museum. On 15 August 1949, the National Museum was conventionally inaugurated by the Governor-General of India, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari. At that time, it was decided that until a everlasting home could be found for the collection, it would continue to be housed at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The National Museum has in its possession over 200,000 works of art, of both Indian and foreign origin, covering more than 5,000 years of Indian cultural heritage. Today, The National Museum is funded and administered by the Department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The largest museum in India is The National Museum in New Delhi. Washington Monument


Washington Monument :
At "five fifty five" ft (170 m) the Washington Monument is not only the tallest building in Washington D.C., Washington Monument is also the tallest masonry structure in the world. India Gate

The National monument of India is The India Gate which is located in the heart of New Delhi, Sir Edwin Lutyens was who designed India Gate that originally recognized as All India War Memorial, it is a outstanding landmark in Delhi and perpetuates the 90,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who lost their lives in war for the British Indian Empire, or more correctly the Third Anglo-Afghan War and the British Raj in World War I. The India gate is composed of red sand stone and granite.

The India Gate is 42 mts tall situated as many important roads spread out through it. Due to terrorist threats Traffic passing around India Gate used to be continuous until the roads were closed to the public.
The lawns around Rajpath congregated with people during the evening, when the India Gate is lit up. When Ice cream and street food vendors come out during this time and it becomes a popular picnic venue for families.

The Amar Jawan Jyoti (The immortal soldier) Burning in a grave under the arch of India Gate since 1971 is that marks the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The grave itself is a black marble cenotaph with a rifle placed on its barrel, crested by a soldier's helmet. Each face of the cenotaph has engrossed in gold the words "Amar Jawan".
This cenotaph is located on an edifice which has its four torches on four corners that are constantly kept alive. It was disclosed in 1971. After the Indo-Pak war in 1971, the then Prime Minister of india Mrs. Indira Gandhi paid allegiance on behalf of the whole nation on the eve of 23rd republic day (26th january 1972).
Standing right behind the gate there is an empty canopy made of sandstone, which is also designed by Lutyens only, which inspired by a 18th century Mahabalipuram pavilion, that had the statue of King George V until Independence of India in 1947, that now stands in the Coronation Park, Delhi. There were multiple plans and calls to have a seated statue of Mahatma Gandhi initiated which were subject to deliberation and have not been agreed upon.

Flora Fountain

Flora Fountain in Mumbai lies in the midst of one of the engrossed parts of the city. This is an aesthetically architecture white marble statue with a jutting fountain endowment a hypnotic aura untouched by the chaos that surrounds this piece of art.

Flora Fountain was built in 1869 in the honor of the Governor of Mumbai, Sir Bartle Frère, the Flora Fountain is an quintessence of the Roman Goddess Flora, the deity of abundance and prosperity.The timeless artistry and splendor of the statue has earned it a heritage status. 

The Flora Fountain was elevated by the Agri-Horticultural Society of Western India when Cursetjee Fardoonjee Parekh donated Rs. 20,000 for its construction. The complete built up incurred a cost of Rs. 47,000, then a princely figure. Designed by R. Norman Shaw, Flora Fountain was sculpted in carried Portland stone by James Forsythe. It now wears a white coat of oil paint.

The Flora fountain today stands exactly at the point where once the original Church Gate of Bombay Fort stood.

The Gardiner Museum

The Gardiner Museum :

The Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art was first opened in 1984 by Helen Gardiner and George to house their collection of ancient American artefacts and European pottery and porcelain. Between the years 1987 and 1996 it was managed by the Royal Ontario Museum, but a considerate endowment from George Gardiner allowed it to achieve its independence.

Attendance, membership, and program participation  much and more than doubled over the next seven years, and the Museum became an incomparable centre for ceramics in North America. The Museum was closed from between the years 2004 to 2006 for a major expansion. Today the Museum boasts an expanding permanent collection, a full schedule of exhibitions and programs, and a growing audience.

Akshardham is majestic, elaborately carved stone structure which stands amid sprawling gardens set in a 23-acre plot at Gandhinagar (Gandhinagar district).Akshardham is built in "six thousand" tonnes of pink sandstone and not a bit of steel has been used. The temple is 108 ft in height, 240 ft in length and 131 ft in width. A point deserving noting is that this modern monument to Hinduism was built as per the injunctions of Vastu Shastra.The monument enshrining the seven foot high, gold-leafed Murti of Lord Swaminarayan is the complex focal point.

The monument stands on 7 sculpted pillars, 210 single-piece stone beams, 57 window grills, M domes, eight ornate zarokhas, etc. The sanctum sanctorum contains the 1.2 tonne gold-plated idol of Lord Swaminarayan, the founder of the sect that bears his name, shown in a sitting pose with his right hand raised in abhay mudra.Swaminarayan's Akshardham is called by Swami Gunatitanand ,the eternal abode. According to the Swaminarayan philosophy whenever Lord Swaminarayan actualize on this planet he brings with him his Akshardham.

White Rock Lake was a collection of farms,Before it was a lake.White Rock Lake Park is owned by the families of Daniel and Cox. Daniel's son had a good friend during the civil war named Cox. The first record of the Daniel family farm is in the Thomas Walker Daniel Family Bible.In the late 1830s and early 1840s Daniel and his wife Frances Herndon Daniels seem to have moved to the White Rock area.then When the war was over,the Cox family moved to land adjacent to the Daniel family so that they had together a joint family cemetery called the Daniel-Cox Cemetery.

Chennai snake park is located in Adyar which is known as urban centers of Chennai.this famous park is lies in the Guindy area of the city suburb, Adyar.and provided by small road, known as  Sardar Vallabhai Patel Road.

This park is founded by Romulus Whitaker, the prominent wildlife conservationist. The park was established in the year 1972 with the intention that is to preserve the endangered reptile species in the sub continent. Madras Snake Park Trust was established at the same time 1972 which maintains the snake park. The park secured the recognition as Medium Zoo from the Central Zoo Authority in the year 1995.This park contains the number of lizards, amazing crocodiles, turtles, snake species.
